Tricia Halloran has been curating, DJing, Podcasting and obsessing over indie pop and rock since 1992 when she started hosting Brave New World at Los Angeles public radio station KCRW. She hosted KCRW’s new podcast about the '80s music scene, Lost S.N.A.P. Archives and works as a music supervisor on film, TV and Video Games. She believes that indie music is art, songs are healing, and a well-written lyric can move mountains.

Brave new … Twitch?

What is Twitch? Repeat after me. Twitch is radio. It’s like a big worldwide radio station, and anyone can have a show. That’s all! Instead of tuning your radio to a frequency number, you find DJ’s and hosts you like and listen to them play their favorite music discoveries. I host Brave New World every Sunday 11am PST on Twitch. No account is necessary to listen, but if you do create an account and ‘follow’ me, you’ll get a reminder when I’m live ‘on the air’ aka ‘streaming’.

Work

For 15 years she was the host of "Brave New World" on KCRW, an epicenter of the indie rock scene as it emerged from a strictly underground college niche into a powerhouse media genre.
